BRILLIANT METEOR LIGHTS SEASCAPE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An exceptionally bright meteor, orange i i colour, which is said to have lighted the whole seascape was observed at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday from the?-yacht Hope in Tory Channel. The director of the Carter Observatory, Mr I. L. Thomson, said the display was obscured by cloud, the meteor being seen only when it emerged, lighting the scene as by a flash'of lightning. Any further reports will be welcomed by the observatory.
The meteor is reported to have been seen by Greymouth residents shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday.
