Food Restrictions
The Minister of Food (Mr Joan Strachey) said yesterday in the House of Commons that the Governmenthad decided to drop the regulation prohibiting gatherings of more then 100 guests at official dinners. Restaurants and hotels will continue to be restricted to a. basic charge oi 5s for each meal, with a limit ol 7s 6d a head for extra charges. In cases where it is considered necessary to exceed a total charge 0f.12s 6d a head, it will still be necessary to obtain a special licence from the Food Ministry.—London, March 12.
