LONDON, March 12. The North Croydon by-election re1 suited:—F. W. Harris (Conservative), ' i 36,200 votes;' Harold Nicolson (Labi ’ our), 24,536; Air Vice-Marshal D. C. ;. T. Bennett (Liberal), 6321. . | The vacancy was caused by Mr H. i V. Willink’s resignation. Seventy-five | per cent, of the electorate voted. Air j Vice-Marshal Bennett forfeits his de- .. posit. c The voting in the 1945 General s Election was:—H. V. Willink (Coni servative), 23,417; Miss M. G. Billson 5 (Labour), 22,810; Sub-Lieutenant J. i M. Howard (Liberal), 10,714. About 1 73 per cent, of the electorate voted in r 1945, when there were nearly 5000 fewer names on the register.
