DUTCH STEAMER ON FIRE OFF HAITI
'(Reed. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 23. f The National Broadcasting Company picked up a distress call from the Dutch steamer, Koert, saying it was on fire 15 miles off Port au 'Prince; Haiti,;and that the passengers and crew were taking to the lifeboats. The coastguard said the ship, which is of 482 tons, was “abandoned by all hands.” The coastquard had no details, but said the Haiti coastguard ■.radioed that the “situation is well in ■hand.”
