Mr L. Silcock, who was a member of the teaching staff of the Flaupiri school, left Greymouth yesterday on transfer to North Canterbury. Mr D. S. Kennedy, engineer to the Greymouth ■ Harbour Board, left for Christchurch last evening, where he will attend a meeting of the Harbours Association. Nir and Mrs R. L. ColemSh; of Southern#- Rhodesia, will arrive in Greymouth today, after an absence of 12 years in Africa. They will be guests of Mrs D. Guthrie, Cobden, during their visit. At last evening’s' meeting ol the Greymouth Cycling Club votes of condolence were passed with the relatives of the late Mr J. O’Brien (a former patron), Mr N. McAra (father of Mr S. McAra, the present patron) and Mr E. Treacy. Mr J. M. Robertson, the present Mayor of Westport, has been nominated as a candidate for the Mayoralty at the forthcoming elections. Mr Robertson has also been nominated as one of the two borough representatives on the Buller Power Board.
