BRUNNER MINERS ELECT OFFICERS
Practically all officers were elected unopposed, as follows, at the annual meeting of the Brunner Mineworkers’ Union:— President, Mr M. Hall; vice-presi-dent, Mr T. Freeman; secretarytreasurer, Mr R. Ross; trustees, Messrs H. Browning and T. Morgan; delegate to» central committee, Mr E. Duggan; delegate to Trades Council, Mr T. Freeman; delegate to L.R.C., Mr E. O’Malley; press correspondent, Mr R. Ross; check inspectors, Messrs J. Tackney and H. Browning; de-puty-check inspectors, Messrs A. Varco and J. Henry; miners’ weighman, Mr J. Paterson; committee, Messrs H. Browning, A. McDougall, R. Beadle, J. Kelly, A. Varco, T. Kilkelly, E. Duggan, E. O’Malley, T. Morgan, J. Tackney and J. Henry.
Mr and Mrs G. Simon were accorded a vote of thanks for their service as the union’s voluntary delegates to the Grey Hospital, and it was decided to recognise publicly Mr and Mrs Simon’s services. .
