COMMUNIST BLOC LEADING IN ROME ELECTIONS

(Rec. 1.15 p.m.) ROME, Oct. 13. The returns from 1096 of the districts in the Rome municipal elections give the pro-Communists People’s Bloc 183,526 votes against the Christian Democrats’ 182,730 votes, thus reversing the, parties’ positions as shown in an earlier report. The earlier report referred to said that Signor de Gasperi’s Christian Democrats held a strong lead over the pro-Communist bloc when half the returns from the elections had been counted.
