Mr James Robertson, Invercargill, was re-elected president of the Council of the South Island Acclimatisation Societies, at the annual meeting of the council yeeterday. . Officers elected by the Technical Education Association’s conference were:—president, Mr T. W. West (Christchurch); vice-president, Mr R. G Ridlin? (Wellington); executive Messrs M. H. Oram (Palmerston North). J. M. McDonald (Hutt Valley), W. G. Aldridge (Dunedin); sec-retary-treasurer, Mr J. B. Mcßride (Christchurch). — (P.A.) MT E. F. Jones, eldest son of trie Minister of Defence (Mr F: Jones), has been selected by the Otago Labour Representation Committee to contest the Dunedin mayoralty against the Citizens’ candidate , who is the present Mayor (Mr D.
