LAWN TENNIS Cobden Club Elects Life Member
The annual meeting of the Cobden Tennis Club "was held on Wednesday evening. There was a large attend3MCG. Mr F. W. Baillie, who was elected president of the club in 1943 in the absence of Mr A. L. Abbie, who was serving in the armed forces, resigned from that position, and in recognition of his services was elected a life member. . The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr F. W. Baillie; president, Mr A. L. Abbie; vicepresidents, Messrs W. Kells and H. Jones; secretary-treasurer, Mr G. W. Todd; assistant secretary, Mr J. Corbishley; auditor, Mrs Price; trustees, Messrs Abbie and Todd; committee, Mesdames Burn, Todd, Carpenter, McMillan, and Mr A. Moseley; club captain, Mr E. Fleming; vice-captain, Mrs Burn; match committee, president, secretary, captain, vice-captain, and Mrs Watkin; delegate Jo West Coast Lawn Tennis Association, Mr G. W. Todd. x , . . Offers of trophies for the junior competition were made by Messrs Baillie and Moseley.
