Labour Party And School
“Does the Minister approve of the use of school grounds and school buildings for a fair for the express purpose of raising funds for school facilities and for a political party,” asked Mr J. T. Watts (Opposition, St Albans) in a notice of question to the Minister of Education (Mr H. G. R. Mason) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr Watts said he had in his possession a pamphlet dealing with a fair at the Opawa school on September 27 which stated the objects of the fair as “to'provide funds for the school committee to provide necessary amenities for the school and to assist the local branch of the Labour Party to acquire funds for its own purposes.”~-(P.A.)
