FUTURE HOME OF PRINCESS ELIZABETH DAMAGED BY FIRE

A lire soon after midnight seriously damaged about half of Sunninghill Park, in Windsor Forest, which the King granted Princess Elizabeth as her future home. The building was well alight when 10 fire-engines arrived. They soon had the blaze under control. The house Avas unoccupied and contained no furniture. It was badly damaged in 1942 when the American Air Force had its headquarters there. The firemen pumped thousands of gallons of water from a lake in the grounds on to the fire. •
