Squirrel Pelts Stolen

When the case of squirrel pelts which' was believed to have been stolen from the Blue Star Line motor-ship Napier Star, but was later found in a hold under some other cargo, was delivered to the consignees in Auckland yesterday, 673 of the furs were found to be missing. The case originally contained 3000 pelts, imported from Russia, and valued in New Zealand at about £ 1200. There was a hole about the size of a man’s fist in the side of the case. When the case was opened furs valued at about £269 were missing.—(P.A.)
