SOME DOCTORS NOT DOING JOB IS CLAIM

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Some doctors are not doing the work for which they are paid and in many eases are more anxious to have the patient sign a Social Security payment book than to give the patient a proper examination. These allegations were made at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board when a discussion arose on whether senior casualty officers should be appointed at the Auckland and Green Lane hospitals. One view expressed was that doctors were paid to treat many patients who went to the casualty department and so why should the board stand the expense? A board member claimed that doctors were not doing their work and the taxpayer was getting little service for his money. The chairman, Mr Allan J. Moody, said there would be no trouble.as far as the board was concerned if the doctors would do their jobs. - The question of the appointment of casualty officers was deferred for further consideration.
