THREE-POWER TALKS ON LEVEL OF GERMAN INDUSTRY

(Rec. 11 a.m.) PARIS, August 11. The French Foreign Office announced that Britain and the United States have agreed officially to meet the French in a three-Power discussion on the level of German industrial production.

“The news that the United States has formally agreed to three-Power talks being held on the level of German industry is welcomed in London,” says the diplomatic correspondent of The Times. “The policies of the participating Governments are known in outline, but they have not committed themselves to any figures. “America’s idea of a revived German industry as a dynamo for European reconstruction is conceived in Europe’s interest. France wants to see Ruhr coal brought to Lorraine to work ore in French plants, rather than to see Lorraine ore taken to the Ruhl' to be worked there by German coal in German plants. ‘‘Britain, standing between the American and French views, is. governed by the inescapable necessity of making the zone pay its way within the limits of security.”.
