POLICE DOG MAKES ITS FIRST ‘ARREST’

(Rec. 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 13. A Labrador police dog, one of six attached to the Hyde Park police patrol to help check the epidemic of assaults and robberies, made its first “arrest” tonight, says the Daily Express. Jessie was on patrol with a constable when they heard a woman's cry for help. They chased, overtook and grappled with a man. The constable fell but signalled to the dog, who leaped on the man’s shoulders and pinned him to the ground and held him until the constable recovered and effected the arrest. The man was not hurl.
