GREY R.S.A. AND RECENT APPOINTMENT OF INSTRUCTORS

It was reported last month that the executive of the Greymouth branch of the Returned Services’ Association had taken strong exception to the appointment of two painting and plumbing instructors at the Greymouth Technical High School, it being claimed that neither man had overseas service and had been chosen before returned servicemen. It was stated today by the secretary of the association, Mr T. P. Ryan, that the appointments questioned by the executive had been that of a part-time plumbing instructor appointed at the Greymouth Technical High School and a painting instructor appointed to the Rehabilitation Department by the Public Service Commissioner. Mr Ryan stated that the association deeply regretted any embarrassment which may have been brought about by the two appointments having been erroneously connected with the Greymouth school.
