INDIAN CRICKETERS MAY TOUR NEW ZEALAND NEXT YEAR
The Board of Control for cricket in India has accepted the select conrmittee’s unanimous recommendation of the cricketers to tour Australia (and possibly New Zealand) next, season. They are: —V. M. Merchant (captain), L. Amarnath (vice-captain), Mushtao All, V. Mankad, V. S. Hazaie, R. S. Modi, C. S. Nayudu, Gul Mohammed, S. W. Sohoni, Amir Elahi, J. K. Irani, P. Sen. K. M. Rangnekar, Fazul Mahmud, G. Kishenehand, P. G. Phadkar, and H, R. Adhikari. The board appointed a three-man committee, comprising the captain, vice-captain, and Musfftaq Ali to choose the team. The captain, vicecaptain, and manager form the executive committee to manage the tour. All members of the team are to get a bonus of £2OO, plus kit. Each player will receive im addition £6 a week to cover out-of-pocket expense s. ______ ______
