MONTGOMERY AS ‘SUPER PLANNER’
LONDON, March 17. "The Government is looking for a super planner to pull industry together, and Field-Marshal Loid Montgomery fills the bill,” says the Daily Mail in a leading article. “We don’t know whether he could, be spared from his military duties nor whether he would accept the post if it was offered him, but we know the appointment would be highly popular, not only with the men who fought with him, but people generally would feel that at last a man of action was in charge. . “He is not a politician. • He is a leader whose planning —real planning contributed much to victory in the war. He is a man of drive, action, and cool self-command.”
