Greymouth Milk Supply Discussed By Producers

The aims and achievements of the Milk Producers’ Association were described by Mr. J. J- Maher, M.P., Dominion president of the organisation, and Mr. P. Jamieson, a vicepresident, when they met Grey district milk producers at Greymouth yesterday afternoon. The meeting/which was not open to the press, was reported to be generally favourable to the formation of a local branch of the association to handle the distribution of milk on. a co-operative basis instead of the present company, but no resolution to this effect was adopted. It was finally left to Mr F. G. Norton, of Coal Creek, to call another meeting of the 22 milk producers in the district in an endeavour to form a branch. The producers discussed whether two delegates should sent to Wellington to confer on the situation with the Town Milk Supply Board, which had promised the fullest measure of support’ to local sunpliers, but no action was taken.
