THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair To Fine
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— 9 Situation: An anti-cyclone east of the Chatham Islands extends on to the North Island; a trough of low pressure is approaching the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Light to moderate south-westerly winds predominating; some morning low cloud or fog; weather otherwise fair to fine and mild. Further outlook: Fair. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a.m.—Barometer, 30.06 inches (1018 millibars); thermometer, 58; wind, south (light breeze); sky, cloudy; bar, rough sea; rainfall to this morning 0.09 inches, to yesterday morning, nil. (The total rainfall to date this year is 9.59 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 19ft.
