GUILTY OF MURDER

SENTENCE PASSED ON TWO BOYS IMPRISONMENT FOR LIFE (P.A.) HAMILTON, Feb. 12. A verdict of guilty in each case was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court to-day, in the trial of James Frederick Dodd, aged 15, and Cecil James Pascoe, aged 14, on a charge of murdering Raymond Douglas Brinkman, aged 23, a farmer, at Te Whakarae, on January 11. In the case of Pascoe, the jury recommended mercy. Mr. Justice Smith sentenced both boys to ■ imprisonment with hard labour for life. Dismissing the jury, he said that the verdict was a correct one, and one which' might have a very salutary effect.
