The new Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Justice Christie, will preside at the Napier criminal session on Monday.—(P.A.) Mr. R. Nairn, president of the New Zealand Institute of Electricians, will arrive at Greymouth from Nelson this evening. Mr. Nairn, who is making an official tour of the South Island, will address the Greymouth district branch of the institute. Mr. Harold Edwards, who has resigned from the board of directors 01. McKenzie’s Department Stores Ltd., has been replaced by Mr. H. R. H. Chalmers, until recently General Manager of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr. F. R. Picot, of Wellington who was Commissioner of Supply for the Government. The appointment of Mr. Eric Hall McCormick, M.Litt., M.A., Dip. Ed., . of Wellington, as senior lecturer in English at the Auckland University College, was announced by the college registrar. Mr. McCormick is expected to take up his duties at the college next month. Mr. McCormick has been for some years in the Department of Internal Affairs, and in 1939 was editor of the Government’s centennial publications. Guests at the Albion Hotel include: Mr. L. B.
