Meeting Of Watersiders’ Executive

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A meeting to-day of the national executive of the New Zealand Waterside Workers Union has aroused more than usual interest in trade union and shipping circles. Although no hint has been given of the reason for the meeting, many people believe the executive will consider the action to be taken in view of the recent breakdown of the discussions on the waterside claims by the Waterfront Industry Commission. Any decisions reached by the national executive to-day will possibly be implemented on Thursday, when ail the ports will be holding their normal monthly stop-work meetings. So far, however, Waterside Union officials have given no hint of the subjects for discussion to-day.
