EXCURSION TO KOKATAHI FARM The excursion to Mr. Mark Wallace’s farm, Kokatahi, which was organised by the Greymouth committee of the Adult Education Council on Saturday was a success. About 25 members representing different groups, in Greymouth, Runanga and Kumara districts enjoyed the hospitality of the farmers of the Kokatahi district. Talks were given on the history of the dairy industry and its development in New Zealand, on the co-operative dairy movement and its administration and an outline of the Pig Marketing Association, by Messrs Wallace, Algar and Templeton, respectively. The visitors were conducted over parts of the farm and the breeds of cattle and sheep, with their differing characteristics were explained by Mr. C. Jamieson. There was a demonstration of shearing and a talk on pastures and grasses. The political and economic significance of the dairy farmers’ problems were discussed. A talk on mining was given, mainly for the benefit of the farmers, by Mr. O ’Lo ughl in.
