Hitler’s Doctor on Trial.
Karl Brandt, Hitler’s personal physician, and one of 22 Nazi doctors charged with performing sadistic medical experiments in concentration camps, told the court he believed “the life -of an insane person was not in keeping with human dignity. Brandt, who is also accused of supervising Hitler’s euthanasia programme, said the cost of maintaining asylums was £1,700,000. “That is about the cost of a battleship and a great price for the State to bear.”— Nuremberg, February 5.
