Americans Beaten Bv N.Z. Pair
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. The American players, G. Mulloy and B. Talbert, gave a large gallery at the Mitchell Park courts, Lower Hutt, to-day, one of the finest displays of tennis seen in the Wellington district for many years. The courts were in splendid condition and the weather was perfect. O. Bold (Hutt Valley) and G. Robson (Otago), New Zealand doubles champions, played remarkable tennis to beat Mulloy and Talbert, 6-3, in a one-set match. This was the only time the Americans were beaten. Features were Bold’s forceful service and the excellent smashing of both New Zealanders.
