Miners’ Strike in Nova Scotia.
Demanding increased pay, 13,000 members of the United Mine Workers’ Union on the maritime coalfields began a general strike when their contract expired at midnight. It is the first general strike on these coalfields in 22 years.—Sydney (Nova Scotia), Feb. 2.
