Fat Stock Cheaper Yesterday

Market Over-Supplied at Addington The principal fait! s|tock sections were over-supplied at the Addington market yesterday and values were lower. There was _ a heavy yarding of store sheep which sold at late rates. Fat lambs were offered in small numbers and for these there was a sharp rise. Store' sheep.—The total entry was 4713 against 2173 last week. Best ewe hoggets made 28/- to . 31/10, medium 25/- to 27/6, and others 21/to 24/10. Best wether hoggets made to 28/3, with medium from 23/9 to 2C/-. Ewes and lambs sold at between 23/- and 24/10. u Spring Lambs.— .Owing to a small entry prices rose about 5/- a head. Best lambs made from 41/1 to 44/1, medium .36/1 to 38/7, and light 32/4 to 35/7.

Fat Sheep.— The market was erratic throughout, but prices steadied over the last race and, on an average, all classes could be quoted at 1/- lower than last week. Values were: Extra prime heavy wethers, to 46/7. Prime heavy wethers, 30/6 to 35/6. Prime medium-weight wethers, 25/- to 30/-. Ordinary and light wethers, 21/- to 24/6. Extra prime ewes, to’ 38/7. Prime medium-weight ewes, 23/- to 26/-. Extra heavy ewes, 19/- to 23/-. Medium ewes, 18/- to 22/-. . Unfinished ewes, 14/to 17/6. Fat Cattle.—Heavy beef was back fully.3o/- to £2 a head. The quality was good and only the plentiful supply reduced prices. Best beef made to 60/- per 1001 b; good, 45/- to 50/-; medium, 35/- to 40/-; best cow beef to 40/-, and secondary to 36/-. Values were: Extra prime steers, £3O 17/6 to £32/7/6. Prime steers,. £24 7/6 to £26/17/6. Prime mediumweight steers, £l6 to £l9/10/Light steers, £ll/10/- to £l4. Extra prime heifers, to £l9/17/6. Prime heifers, £l3 to £l6/17/6. Medium and light heifers, £7/10/to £ll. Extra prime cows, to £lB 2/6. Prime cows, £lO to £l4. Ordinary and light cows, £7 to £8 2/6.

Veaiers. —Values were similar to last week’s. Large prime vealers made £B/16/- to- £ll/13/6, others £6 8/6 to £B/1/-, good quality young suckers £4/3/6 to £5/6/-, large calves 55/- to 68/-, medium calves 35/- to 52/-, small and rough down to 18/-.

Store Cattle.— Two-year-old steers made £l2/16/- to £l5/3/6. Dairybred heifers made to £7/2/- and cows for grazing ranged from £7 9/- to £B/15/-.

Dairy Cattle.—Best second, third and fourth calvers made £l3 to £l7, medium £lO to £l2/10/-, and aged from £6 to £9/5/-. Good heifers made £l2 to £l7. others £7/10/to £lO/10/-. Fat Pigs.—All sections were cheaper this week through the sale was still sound. Values were: Light porkers, £3/14/6 to £3/19/6. Medium porkers, £4/7/6 to £4 14/6. Heavy porkers, £4/19/6 to £5/9/6. Choppers, £6/18/6 to £l4 18/6. Light baconers, £5/2/6 to £5 9/6. Medium baconers, £5/12/6 to £5/17/6. Heavy baconers, £6/2/6 to £6/9/6. Extra heavy baconers, £6/14/6 to £7/9/6. Average price per lb, 9id. to lOd. Store Pigs.—lncluded in the entry was a line of Tamworth sows which made from £9/10/- to £-10/10/-. Values were: Small weaners, 29/- to 34/-. Best weaners, 35/- to 43/-. Slips, 44/- to 50/-. Small stores, 54/- to 58/-. Medium stores, £3 to £3/5/-. Large stores, £3/6/- to £3/15/-.
