PLAN FOR TRIESTE
NEW PROPOSALS BY JUGOSLAVIA NEW YORK, December 3. _ Jugoslavia has presented the Big Four with new proposals regarding Trieste which a Jugoslav spokesman said represented “substantial concessions” compared with the previous demands. The new plan awards Trieste to Italy and Gorizia to Jugoslavia, but with Monfalcone going to Italy. Marshal Broz-Tito’s new proposals also offer about six minor changes all favouring Italy, but diplomatic sources said the new Jugoslavian proposals did not. conform to the socalled French borderline which the Western Powers insisted should not be altered farthei’ westwards at Italy’s expense. ________
