Senior Competition Arrangements

Two Divisions in Next Round It was decided last evening at a meeting of the management committee of the West Coast Cricket Association that the present senior competition would be of one round only, the winning team to receive the Feary Cup. At the end of the round the four leading teams will play in a senior A competition and the iemaining three teams, with the addition of the new Blackball team, will play in a senior B competition. This second competition will be or two rounds for each division, ihe leaders of each section at the end o two rounds will play ' ofT 4or Wingham Cup, and the Wingham Cup holders will then play the Hokitika competition winners to decid West Coast club supremacy. Arrangements were made at the meeting for a Buller team to visit Greymouth on Saturday, Decemb 14. Trial Match on Sunday. It was resolved that the trial match between Hokitika and .^ re y rx l°H be played on the No. 2 wicket at Recreation Ground on Sunday, commencing at 10.30 a.m. The secretary, Mr. G. Sansom, said that the Greymouth team had been chosen from those players available to go on the tour of Canterbury and South Canterbury during the Christ-mas-New Year period. If any of the selected players were not available he expected an early intimation to that effect. _ The teams for the match on bu day will be as follows:— Greymouth.— w. Vincent (captain), M. Marshall, A. Knapp, G - McLean, S. Garforth, R. Lee, A. Abelson, R. O’Callaghan, F. Malley, B. Constable, J. Knowles, T. Piahlert, . Kerr, R. Gordon (three to be omitted). , Hokitika. — Peake (captain), Duffield, M. Keenan, A. Howat, Wallace, Boyd, Henderson, Baird, Stoop, Lindsay, Parker, G. Stapleton (twelfth man). The resignation from the committee of Mr. J. Knowles was received with regret. It was decided to appoint someone in his place at next week’s delegates’ meeting. It was announced that A. Barlow, M. Marshall, and A. Knapp would take part in the minor associations match at Christchurch to-morrow and on Saturday. Week-end Matches. The draw for the week-end was arranged as follows: — Senior. — Marist C v. Cobden, at Cobden; United A v. United B, Recreation Ground No. 1; Marist B v. Brunner, at Brunner; Marist A v. Blackball, at Blackball. . Junior. — United v. Technical, Technical ground; Cobden B v. Marist Old Boys, Cobden; Marist School v. Cobden A (to be played later). Women. —Possibles v. Probables, Recreation Ground No. 1.
