OBITUARY

W. E. Hay-McKenzie (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 3. The death has occurred at the age of 72 of Mr. W. E. Hay-McKenzie, who was prominent in New Zealand sport for more than half a century, especially Rugby football, lawn tennis, and rowing. Mr. Hay-McKenzie first came to the front in football as an Auckland representative full-back, and his splendid all-round play gained him selection in the New Zealand team of 1901 for the test match against New South Wales at Athletic Park. G Smith, R. McGregor, A. Humphries, M. E. Wood, J. Duncan (captain), W. Drake, T. Cross, and W Cunningham were in the same All Black side.
