Discussing the practical examinations, the examiner, Dr. Bainton, said he found the general standard in Greymouth very satisfactory, two necessary factors being strongly in evidence—-the intelligence and musical sense of the examinees on the one hand, and the careful tuition by the teachers on the other. These vital points must be in co-operation, as otherwise success could not be achieved. He found the work of all the examinees presented extremely pleasing and promising.
