Many of the survivors of atom bomb attacks on Japan will develop cancer within the next 10 to 15 years as a result of burns from gamma rays, according to Colonel Ashley Oughterson, director of the American Cancer Society and chairman of the joint commission investigating the effects of the bombs on the Japanese population.
