OBITUARY Mrs. Elizabeth M. Cunniffe

The death occurred at Christchurch yesterday of Mrs Elizabeth Monica Cunniffe, formerly of Shakespeare street, Greymouth. Mrs Cunniffe was born at Kumara and was for many years a schoolteacher on the West Coast. Her husband, Mr T. P. Cunniffe, died about four years ago, and she leaves two sons, Walter (Hokitika) and Thomas (Christchurch) and two daughters, Mrs F, Eatwell (Christchurch) and Mrs C. Murphy (Waimate). Mrs Warren (Christchurch) is a sister, and Mr J. Firmin, of Petone, is a brother. Mrs H. O’Brien (Greymouth) and . Sister Kevin (Loretto Convent, Christchurch) are nieces. The funeral will take place at the Karoro cemetery to-morrow morning. Mrs. Kate Williams The death occurred at Reefton this morning, after a long illness, of Mrs. Kate Williams, wife of Mr. Alfred David Williams, of Buller road. Mrs. Williams was born in Swansea and had resided in New Zealand for the past 25 years. Dr. A. J. Brass (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 23. The death has occurred of Dr. A. J. Brass. Born in Invercargill, he served in the N.Z.M.C. in the First World War. He was a medical officer in Samoa under the New Zealand Government administration and acting chief medical officer of Rarotonga from 1928 to 1931. He later practised in Canterbury, Bay of Plenty, and Auckland.
