TRAIN DERAILED

ACCIDENT IN LONDON SUBURBS (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, September 20. One person was killed and 16 injured in the derailment at the outer London suburb of Catford of a train from Victoria station to Ramsgate. The train left the track near a greyhound stadium and crashed over the embankment. Six coaches were derailed. The first overturned on its side with a broken fail thrust through it, the second went 20 feet down the embankment and the remaining four were derailed but remained upright and at various angles cn the embankment. The engine remained upright and the crew was unhurt.

The single fatality occurred when a young man was struck in the forehead by the rail as the broken end speared the first coach.
