NON-STOP FLIGHT
AUSTRALIA TO AMERICA IN 44 HOURS TEST OP PLANE ENDURANCE (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, September 18. The Navy has announced plans for a 9000-mile non-stop flight from Australia to America. A Lockheed longranee P2V Neptune twin-engine fly-ing-boat will take off late this month from Perth and fly in a great circle to Seattle. The flight is expected to take 44 hours. - . Vice-Admiral Radford said complete latitude had- been given to the nilot. “He can continue after reaching the west coast if he thinks it best. The flight will be a test of plane endurance and pilot fatigue. The objec will not be primarily a long-distance record attempt.
