Ewes Good Fat Stock Prices at Addington The assured feed position resulting from the recent rains has injected life into the market for store ewes, and yesterday’s market at Addington was the best for a long time. All fat stock sold well, the best making fully 67/6 per 1001 b. Store Sheep.—Hoggets met an excellent sale and the best rose by fully 1/6 a head. Best ewe hoggets made from 36/9 to 39/6, medium 27/3 to 31/6 and inferior 20/- to 25/3. Wether hoggets made from 22/- to 27/-. Best ewes made from 19/1 to 21/2, with medium and inferior from 9/9 to 17/3. -’’X Spring Lambs.—The sale was keen throughout. Extra prime spring lambs, to 43/1; prime spring lambs, 33/- to 40/-; good spring lambs, 27/- to 32/-; medium and light spring lambs, 20/- to 26/-. Fat Hoggets.—Values were about 3/- a head better over the whole sale. Extra prime hoggets made to 45/1; prime hoggets 39/- to 41/6; good hoggets, 33/- to 38/6; medium hoggets, 26/- to 32/-; hoggets, 20/6 to 25/6. Fat Cattle.—The quality was excellent and prices rose sharply. Steers and. the best heifers were fully £2 a head better and good cows and heifers improved by £1 a head. Best beef made to 65/- per 1001 b, with some sales at 67/6; good beef, 50/to 60/-; medium beef, 37/6 to 47/6; best cow beef, to 45/-; secondary cow beef, to 35/-. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers, to £37/17/6. Prime steers, £2l to £24/10/-. Prime medium-weight steers, £lB to £2O/10/-. Light steers, £l2/10/to £l6. Extra prime heifers, to £22 17/6. Prime heifers, £l4/10/- to £l7/10/-. Medium and light heifers, £B/10/- to £l3/10/-. Extra prime cows, to £23/12/6. Prime cows, £lO 10/-to £l4. Medium and light cows, £B/10/- to £ll. Among the best sales were six steers, from F. Wall (Hari Hari) at £3O/7/6 to £3O 12/6 and two cows at £2O/7/6 to £23/12/6 from Williams Bros. (Weheka). Vealers.—The number was still insufficient to meet requirements and a good sale resulted. Large vealers made £B/13/6 to £l2/16/-; medium £5/18/6 to £B/3/6; large calves, £3 13/6 to £5/6/-; medium calves, 45/to 65/-; small and rough calves 18/to 42/-.

Store Cattle—Best three-year and four-year steers made from £l3/6/to £l5/1/-. Good young cows made £5/15/- to £7/1/- and lowerconditioned sorts from £4/3/6 to £5/8/6.

Dairy Cattle.— The quality was poor. Best second, third and fourth calvers made £lO/10/- to £l4/10/-, good average £8 to £lO/5/-, aged and inferior £3 to 7/5/-. Heifers were also poor and the best made £lO/10/- to £l4. Fat Pigs.— All good quality pigs met with strong competition and plain types maintained schedule rates. Values were: Light pokers, £3 16/6 to £3/19/6. Medium porkers, £4/2/6 to £4/7/6. Heavy porkers, £4/14/6 to £5/2/6. Choppers, £7 18/6 to £l5/1/-. Light baconers, £4 19/6 to £5/9/6. Medium baconers, £5/11/6 to £5/17/6. Heavy baconers, £6/2/6 to £6/14/6. Extra heavy baconers, £6/18/6 to £7/4/6. Average price per lb, 9jd to 9£d. Store Pigs.— Good quality weaners maintained last week’s rates and large stores were 3/- to 4/- a head easier. Values were: Small weaners, 30/- to 38/-; best weaners, 42/- to 46/-. Slips, 47/- to 51/-. Small stores, 52/- to 56/-. Medium stores, 59/- to £3/4/-. Large stores, £3/5?- to £3 12/-.
