THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair to Fine
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A complex depression is north-east of New Zealand; an anticyclone is in the western Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Light .variable winds, southerly directions predominating; weather fair to fine; temperatures cool with some frosts in sheltered positions. Further outlook: Brief showers in South Westland; elsewhere continuing fine. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer. 1008; thermometer, 40; wind, "easterly (moderate breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, considerable sea; rainfall, 0.24 inches. (The total rainfall to date this year is 70.64 inches.) The depth on tile bar at high water yesterday was 22ft Sin.
