MUSICAL EVENING AT HARKER’S There was a large attendance at Harker’s Lounge last evening when the Bishop of Nelson,.the Rt. Rev. Dr. P. W. Stephenson, who is paying his annual visit to Greymouth, was entertained by the Greymouth, parishioners at a musical evening. I Speeches of welcome were made by the Rev. P. Kirkham, Mr. L. C. Lindley, representing the vestry and parishioners of Holy Trinity Church, ■ and Pastor M. J. Savage, on behalf I of the Greymouth Ministers’ Asso- ' ciation. Representatives of other de--1 nominations and of the Grey CounI cil of Christian Congregations wei;e present. The musical programme, which was of a high standard, was organised and presented by Mrs. R. Haglund. A feature of this programme was the singing by a choir of a fantasia on “The Bohemian Girl” which was enthusiastically received. The soloists were Mesdames J. Low, R. Haglund and W. Thomas and Mr. H. Anderson. The accompaniment was provided by Miss j A. Greaves (piano), Miss R. Peillon and Mr. J. Outram (violins) and Mr. H. Chalk (bass). Other items were presented by Miss D. Congreve (recitation), Mrs. W. Thomas, Miss M. Bellamy, Messrs H. Malham and R. Richardson (vocal| solos); Miss R. Peillon (violin solo) and Mrs. T. H. Best and Miss A. i Greaves (pianoforte duet). j Supper was served by members of j the Holy Trinity Ladies’ Guild.'Dur- j ing supper Bishop Stephenson mingled informally with those present.
