COMPLETE NATIONALISATION NOT EXPECTED JOB PROVING TOO BIG LONDON, September 13. Finding that nationalisation of the steel industry was too big a job, the Government, according to the political correspondent, of the Daily Mail, has decided on a compromise policy of acquiring a majority .shareholding in the main steel companies with power to appoint Government directors. The methods by which the shares will be taken over are not yet worked out, but it is already certain that the industry will retain a large element of private enterprise representation.
