Churchill Home Becomes National Property
(Recd. 2 p.m.) LONDON, August 8. Mr. Churchill's house and estate. “Chariweil." Westerham, Kent, are to become national property. The National Trust announces that the property has been bought from Mr. Churchill by a group of friends, who have also raised an endowment fund for maintenance. Mr. Churchill and his family will live in the house during his lifetime. Mr. Churchill has promised to leave in the house a certain number of articles of national interest.
