Central America Again Rocked by Quakes
(Recd. 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 8. The Fordham University seismograph recorded a new earthquake in the Caribbean-Sea, almost as bad as last Sunday’s. Philadelphia, St. Louis and Chicago’s seismographs all recorded very strong shocks. Dominican residents telephoned New York that new intense earthquakes are hitting the Caribbean area. Inhabitants of San Pedro and Macoris are fleeing terror-stricken into the hills.
