Management Committee Meeting

At the meeting of the management committee, held prior to the executive meeting ,an application by the Runanga Club to play the Sydenham third grade team in Christchurch on September 7, instead of September 24, originally arranged, was granted. A request from the Canterbury Junior Management Committee for games to be arranged for the followTng teams was filed for reference:— Aranui third grade, Riccarton third grade, and Linwood juniors. The Kumara Club advised that, owing to injuries, it was obliged to withdraw its junior team, and requested that C. Reedy and H. Dimond be reclassified to third grade.—The reclassifications were granted, subject to the players concerned being within the third grade limits. An application by the Brunher Club to play Waimairi senior, third, and fourth grade teams, on a date to be arranged, was referred to the fixtures committee. The same club’s request to be allotted the game with the Aranui third grade team was granted. A challenge for the Challenge Cup from the Ngahere Club was referred to the fixtures committee. A request was received from the Taylorville Domain Board for a donation towards the upkeep of its ground, apart from gate percentages. —On the suggestion of Mr. Stone, who said that several games had been played on the ground since the letter was written, no action was taken. The North Shore Albion Club (Auckland) advised that it proposed to send a senior team to the West Coast this season, and the secretary was instructed to forward information requested regarding transport possibilities. —The question of a date for the visit was held over. The Runanga Club advised that, owing to injuries, it would have difficulty in fielding a senior team next Sunday, and after some discussion it was decided to make an adjustment in the junior fixtures to enable both Runanga teams to play on the same ground. *- /' A request by Mr. Griffin that improved facilities should be provided for schoolboys playing at VictoriaPark on Saturdays was referred to the secretary.
