CHINESE NURSES
STRIKE FOR HIGHER WAGE RATES • (Rec. 9.45 q.m.) SHANGHAI, August 6. The majority of the Chinese nurses in a prominent hospital have gone on strike for higher wages, leaving their patients untended, including Marshal Chiang Kai-shek’s former adviser, W. H. Donald, who is slowly dying of cancer. The hospital authorities have recruited emergency foreign help, mostly private nurses.
