WEATHER RECORDS
VOLUNTEER TO MAN LOCAL STATION EQUIPMENT NOW SOUGHT After a fairly long delay because no one was available to take daily records, a meteorological station may shortly be established at Greymouth. The Westland District Progress League was advised last evening that a Greymouth man had volunteered to keep the necessary records, and it decided to write to the Meteorological Department requesting that a set of instruments and record forms be supplied to the Greymouth Borougn Council for use at the station which it is proposed to establish in the borough. It was stressed that a sunshine recorder should be included in the instruments.
Members pointed out that if a recorder had been available in Greymouth this year, the hours of sunshine would surpass those recorded in Canterbury.
