SHIP DESERTION
EIGHT ENGLISH SEAMEN CHARGED ' (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 7. Eight English seamen went into the dock at the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, yesterday charged with deserting their ships. Six were from the Waimana. A Port Adeliade deserter was said to be one of 14 from that ship. This group is possibly the biggest number to appear in one day on ship desertion charges. They were all remanded till Friday.
