BOX FACTORY DEAL

HOKITIKA CONCERN MAY CHANGE HANDS

Following recent assurances of further North Island orders for but-ter-boxes from West Coast factories, Mr. J. M. Built, public accountant at Greymouth, is engaged in forming a private company with a capital of from £6,000 to £B,OOO for the purpose of acquiring from T. W. Wall, Ltd., of Three Mile, near Hokitika, a box-making factory. The new company, when formed, expects to increase the present output and employ a larger number of workers.

Since the recent death of Mr. T. W. Wall snr., the owners of the factory had contemplated disposing of the machinery and other assets, but, with a view to retaining the box industry for the West Coast, Mr. Bunt secured an option to purchase the factory as a going concern, and has now exercised his option. The factory has been manufacturing white pine butter boxes' for some years, distributing supplies to various South Island dairy companies, and, until lately, to North Island markets.
