BOROUGH COUNCILLOR’S
BREACH
(P.A.) WHANGAREI, August 7. Mr. S. Oldcorn has been disqualified as a member of the Borough Council, on which he had served, for five years, owing to the firm in which he is a shareholder having sold to the council electrical goods to the value of £55/16/10 during the past year. The goods, which were in short supply, were urgently needed. Mr. Oldcorn was unaware that the statutory limit had been exceeded till the Audit Department made notification. His share of the excess over £25 amounted to 10/3, which will be refunded.
