Husband and Wife Meet.
As a Sydney girl witlj. a year-old son boarded the steamer Taiping to join her American husband in Okinawa, she received a telephone call from him saying that he had just arrived in Brisbane on special leave to see her. Had the ship sailed on time the couple would have missed each other. There was some confusion as transport officials tried to persuade her to remain on the vessel, but a minute before sailing time she went ashore. The decision was a happy one, for the husband arrived by air from Brisbane within a few hours. —Sydney, August 4. ,
