BRITISH 100 YARDS RECORD EQUALLED (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 5. Although he started slowly and pulled a muscle during the. race, McDonald Bailey, of Trinidad, won the 100 .yards at the Anglo-French athletics meeting at White City, in 9.7 seconds, equalling the 23-year-old British record. He was a yard behind the French champion, Bally, at the half-way mark, but made.a tremendous finish and won by three yards. Sydney Wooderson won the three miles in 14min 57sec, by 35 yards. Britain defeated France by 72 points to 57.
